Age and Travel Insurance

With all insurances, premiums are worked out mainly on the probability of the customer making a claim. Insurers tend to categorise their customers in order to give them a quote, and one main category they look is the age of the customer. Quotes are drastically affected by young and old age. This also goes for travel insurance policies, especially people of an older age. Just like expensive car insurance is considered unfair to new young drivers, travel insurance is highly priced for people over the age of 60. This is unfair to those at that age who are in perfect health. Insurance companies have proven that there is a much higher chance of people over this age claiming on there travel insurance. And therefore class that group of people a high risk, and the premiums must reflect this. Some insurers will even refuse travel insurance completely to people of certain ages. Even though many pensioners consider these prices as ageist, insurance companies believe that people of this age claim as much as 3.5 times more than people under the age of 50. This is understandable; however they should assess each customer individually before giving them a quote, as its not fair on people of an age who are in perfect health. There are however a small quantity of insurance companies that specialise in giving the elderly travel insurance. These companies do charge slightly higher prices, but can be tailored to suit the individual. Certain aspects can be covered, while other pre-existing medical conditions can be excluded if need be to bring the price down. Be sure to check the policy thoroughly and make sure that what you need to be covered is covered. Use the internet for travel insurance comparison. Consider annual travel insurance if you plan on more than one holiday a year. Tailor your travel insurance to your needs to save money with cheap insurance.

How to be Successful - in Work and in Life

We hope that the following short piece (which is an extract from Craig Lock's first published book 'Handbook for Survival') may be informative and helpful to your e-zine readers, or on your web site. You have permission to publish this article electronically or in print (with links, please). If it helps others "out there" in any way, then we're very happy. "We share what we know, so that others may grow." * HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL - IN WORK AND IN LIFE by Craig Lock Dream big dreams. Have a goal and plan to achieve. Have your goals in line with your principles, totally in alignment with your highest life values Love doing what you do. Listen to the advice of your spouse/partner. Seek help from those whose skills you don't have. Believe you are a winner, or one who CAN be. Work smarter, not necessarily harder. Fly with the eagles, don't scratch with the turkeys. Be prepared to take calculated risks. Be aware that opportunities are always around (and are often disuised as problems!) Promote your product well. Satisfy customers needs completely. Be decisive, determined and self-disciplined. Encourage others constantly. N.B: Act and live with utmost integrity at all times. Have a strong belief in yourself. Have an even stronger belief in God, a Higher Power, a Supreme Being...or whatever God, Spirit means to you personally. P.S: The further I travel in my journey down the "river of life", I just see the spiritual aspect as a different (and higher) dimension to the practical psychological principles (which help us in our everyday living); but they are just two perspectives to view life. The same principles align perfectly in my understanding. The writer tries to blend the psychological and spiritual approaches in his various writings in as simple and harmoniously a way as possible. "Become the person you are CAPABLE of being... and ALL the person God, Our Creator, the Ultimate Source, the very "Ground of our Being" intended us to become." "Success to others may be apparent in what you DO; but significance, meaning and purpose lies, then reveals itself in what you ARE and BECOME down the 'river of life' - how and the spirit with which you face, then overcome the daily obstacles, the frequent trials and tribulations along the often rocky path-way of life's magical and mysterious journey. Time Management - Balance Work and Family

20 years ago the average family had 2 children, one parent who was the main income earner, and one home maker. Generally speaking, the father went to work and provided the income, and the mother stayed home to perform the unpaid work of raising the kids, doing the washing and making sure dinner was on the table and ready to eat by 6.00pm sharp. There was a definite equilibrium of balance.Times sure have changed! Now days, it's almost a unheard of that one parent works while the other looks after the family. The average person working 9 to 5 seems like something from the Stone Age. Employers demand more, and employees happily oblige by increasing work loads and hours. Typically main income earner will leave before the kids wake up, and get home just in time to tuck the kids into bed. The secondary money earner has to fit managing the household and working part-time. Quite a challenge that most families face.So how do you balance between Work Life and Family Life? There are two key factors that will help you create the balance that's right for your family.1. Set GoalsIf you don't have any goals, how will you know where you are going? Like a sail boat on the ocean you have to have a direct and a port to sail to. What are you aspiring to achieve? More than your career goals and aspirations, what about your personal life? Time with family, travel, vacations or maybe starting you own business. Write them down and then answer some simple questions.a) What are your goals in relation to your career and family? b) How would you ideally like to live your day, week, month, year?2. Set a TimetableTime Management is vital to succeeding in balancing your life. Once you have written down your goals, create a 24 hour timetable broken down into half hourly increments. Map out your day the way it is now. For example, 6.30 wake, shower and change; 7.00 breakfast; 7.30 out the door.Once you've accomplish this task try and identify pockets of time that can be used in areas that have been defined in your goal setting - like helping with your children's homework, spending time with your spouse, time out by yourself etc. This may seem tedious, but you would be surprised at how much time you will find to work on your goals, and start creating and living the balanced life you desire. There is more to life than just working, and paying the bills. Know how you spend your time and you will gain the benefit of improved relationships with your loved ones and yourself.Bill McRea is the publisher of The Time Managment Resourse and Inside Yourself. Hard Work and Generosity Inspire Students Volunteering Abroad

Billings, MT September 22, 2004 -- When students Krystel Silva and Marty Lopez returned to college a few weeks ago, their month spent volunteering and traveling in Peru last May provides them with a new perspective on another culture and themselves.Silva and Lope were part of a team of seven Rocky Mountain College students who traveled with Professor David Strong and his family to Peru in May.While in Peru, the students participated in three service projects to help benefit the local communities around Urubamba, a mountain village located not far from Cuzco. The first of the service projects was to build a greenhouse -- or vivero. Rather than being composed of glass, the vivero involved a basic system of trenches dug into the ground. After mixing dirt, manure and compost, 4,000 saplings were collected, placed in bags and situated in the trenches of the vivero. One of the problems encountered in the overpopulated valley was the cutting down of native trees. This project would help nurture native saplings and represented one step in a larger effort of encouraging the growth of native species. The second project involved the students collaborating with local villagers to install clean-burning stoves. Cooking in tiny kitchens lacking proper ventilation is known to be a cause of health problems. Replacing older stoves which often lacked chimneys and proper stove doors, the new stoves aimed to help Peruvian women by bettering living conditions.Building a small garden and park in the back of a hospital next to the vivero was the third project. The design consisted of steps and pathways which were built using rocks, while benches and natural vegetation were also included. The overall purpose of the projects was to take this community that's growing and allow them to live there and be compatible with the valley, Strong said. Experiencing the sights, smells and sounds of poverty firsthand, Silva was inspired by the generosity of the impoverished people. They were always so concerned with you and your well-being. No matter how poor they were, or their lack of food, they were still so welcoming, Silva said. For Lopez, the meaning of his time spent in Peru did not hit him until he watched the final Peruvian sunset in Lima. It was then that he reflected upon his time spent with the locals engaging in hard labor and seeing them laughing, joking and enjoying it.It kind of inspired me with my school work " in admiration of their labor, Lopez said. The trip was organized through ProPeru, a service corps operating under the auspices of ProWorld whose mission is to provide cross-cultural experiences by blending service, community development and academic study.ProWorld Service Corps is a company specializing in study abroad and volunteer work service projects in Belize (ProBelize) and Peru (ProPeru). Founded in 1998, ProWorld provides enriching experiences for volunteers while striving to make a difference in cooperative communities.

Video Conferencing - How It Works And Why You Should Use It

The internet has made possible several marvelous technologies that enhance our lives in many ways. One very useful technology that has been gaining ground recently is video conferencing over the internet. Let's examine what it is and how it can be used effectively.Video conferencing essentially allows a group of individuals anywhere around the world who have internet access to be able to hold a simultaneous meeting together without having to physically meet one another in any specific location. It's a method of combining simultaneous video and audio so that a meaningful discussion or meeting can take place in real-time over the internet. So what do you need in order to have a video conference? Successful video conferencing components include video cameras, microphones, video conferencing software, and the computer equipment necessary to connect to the internet and process the sound and video data.In order to accomplish the transmission of the video and audio portions of the meeting, the video conferencing software that is used must take the input from the microphones and cameras, convert them into digital signals that are encoded and then transmitted across the internet where they are received and decoded back into images and sound on the other end.So who can make use of this advanced communications technology? Well, almost anyone who needs to meet with a group of other people who may not be local to them. Quite a few businesses are adopting this technology because it allows them to be able to communicate with personnel and offices no matter where they are located around the world, and share important ideas and planning strategies. And the biggest advantage for business is that they don't have to pay for the travel costs necessary to bring all of those people together at one time, and they don't lose productivity spent during the travel time to get there. So for many businesses it's a very positive solution for office related communications.Schools are also starting to use video conferencing quite a bit as distance learning over the internet continues to rise in popularity. It enables them to be able to teach subjects, and hold classes over the internet for their students without them having to be physically present. There are many other ways to make good use of internet video conferencing, as they can be beneficial for almost any group of people that needs to meet and discuss important topics in real-time without physically gathering together in the same place.Hopefully the information presented in this article will help you understand more about how video conferencing actually works, and who can best make use of this marvelous technology.Steadman Issenburg writes on many consumer related topics including communication. Snoring Mouth Pieces - Do They Work and How Do You Know Which Are the Best?

So how does a snoring mouth piece work, and why are they so effective at helping people stop snoring? Snoring happens when air has a reduced amount of room to operate when travelling through your air passageways. This results in a higher concentration of air trying to get through the same space, which causes it to vibrate against your throat tissues while passing through. The resulting noise is termed snoring. This is the thing you want to get rid of.The tissues that actually vibrate are called the palate, and this is what you want to stop. The reality is, the air flow blockage could happen for any number of reasons, which is why there are so many anti snoring products on the market. One of them happens to be a snoring mouth guard, and while it certainly does work for many, it may or may not work for you. With that long preamble, here is how it works to help you stop snoring.A snoring mouth piece is put on your top and bottom teeth in a manner that it keeps you jaw from falling back, since your jaw is often times the thing that blocks your airways. Therefore, this keeps the airways clear. One thing to keep in mind is that, while these products may cover up the real problem, typically snoring happens because of unhealthy lifestyle choices, such as eating or exercising. Often times, simply shoring up your diet is enough in and of itself to reduce and eliminate snoring.I'm not recommending the mouth piece by itself, without at least making some other lifestyle changes. In addition, alcohol consumption has proven to significant increase the risk of snoring, as has smoking, so make sure you cut out these harmful habits too.The bottom line is, which snoring mouth piece you go with will make a difference. I would recommend you read reviews on the different ones on the market, see which one gets the most positive ratings, and then test it out for yourself to see if it helps stop your snoring or not.

What's the best snore stop product out there? Are any of them guaranteed to work? Don't invest a dime in anything before you read the unbiased reviews at onlinesnoringremedies.com

Time Management : Does Training Work And Where Do We Start?

The term time management is somewhat of an anomaly because we can't actually manage time! Telling delegates this at the beginning of a time management course can produce some frowning faces. We quickly move on to suggest that what we can do though is to manage ourselves in relation to time, we can control how we use time and we can control how we spend it.Time Management courses are attended by many different types of people and, in a sense, that's another of the fun factors. Learning about what other people do and how they manage their time is not only interesting, but also gives insight that is beneficial to all attendees. Our company has welcomed all levels of organizational membership from clerical workers up to regional and top CEOs.A critical issue in time management training is what can be taken away. We tell our delegates that we provide them with a toolbox of skills to enable them to become more productive, less stressed and happier at work. However, research actually shows that many time management courses just don't hit the mark. Why? Often they are not designed within the principles of human learning. There may be little thought given to preparing for the course, analyzing how time is spent before attending and to how learning from the course can be effectively transferred back to the workplace. Make sure that you consider all of these issues before signing up for a course. Once you have signed up, if your facilitator does as we do and asks you to carry out some pre-course work, make sure that you do. I recently ran an in-house course where not one of the attendees did the pre-course time log. Not only does this say something about the company and those attending, but it means that they lost at least 20% of the value of the course. If we do not know where our time goes, how can we learn to control it??!!Today's high paced offices are full of time-wasters. The phone is always ringing, bosses are always demanding meetings and there's always the drop-in visitor who asks for five minutes of your time only to leave you feeling overwhelmed an hour later. We all face different time-wasters and at times, we are our own culprits! Human traits such as ego and pride see us accepting too much work, always picking up the 'phone and being unable to say "no". On the other hand, a sense of pride in our abilities also leads us, at times, to accept too many challenges. Economic and job pressures result in us spending more and more time at work but often not achieving any more than we would in a "regular" 8 hour day. What's happening? These factors are leading us to procrastinate. There's so much to do that we feel overwhelmed. We make deals with ourselves such as have a coffee first then start, or do the easier task first. The problem is, that critical but oh so big project gets put back time and time again! This just adds to the stress and pressure. In many industries, workers spend a lot of their time "fighting-fires". This is where everything is classified as urgent and important. Ideally, such people need to find a mechanism to transform and spend more time working on projects which are still important, but not urgent. Ultimately, that's where effective management of time comes in. Planning and self-examination helps you know what you are capable of, when your most productive energy cycles are and what issues tend to bog you down. Learning to overcome procrastination is critical, as is learning to trust your direct-reports and allowing yourself to delegate more work - remembering to delegate responsibility as well as the work itself! Once you have mastered that, you need to go on to set smart* goals and learn how to plan your work and projects and build contingencies into these plans. As you begin to experience more control over your time, your mind will start to free-up and you'll think more clearly and embrace more passion for your work. To do this effectively, you'll also need to clear up your workspace, keep things neat and tidy and ensure adequate light (preferably natural) and optimal temperatures in the office. Then once you've spent time working on your own time management, you'll need to look to doing the same in others. Not just making sure they go on the same course as you, but also respecting their styles and preferences and not interrupting them during their most productive time periods. So if we can learn to manage time effectively in the office, can we do the same if we have to travel a lot for work? Of course! The trick is learning to always have something with you that you can be working on. So, for example after you've checked-in for your flight, you may have an hour or two to spare. Use this time for work that won't require high levels of concentration such as replying to emails or drawing up lose business plans. When you are visiting a client and he makes you wait in the conference room for 5 minutes, you can be working on some new sales ideas or reading the latest industry news. So, it's all about always having something that will ultimately need to be done ready to do in whatever situation you are in and in that case, when you are made to wait, you don't have to feel unhappy about it, rather in full control. In summary, research shows us that time management (or managing ourselves in relation to time) does work as long as we are committed to this and start out well from step one. Thinking that a one or two day course in time management will produce lasting results is erroneous. However, examining the current workplace, how time is spent and what changes can be made and being willing and able to make those changes as well as being committed to lasting time management success is what will produce consistent and long-term results. Those who report mastery of their time not only report being happier and more productive in less time, but they also report increased financial success. Like anything that produces a good return, an initial respectable investment is the key.*SMART goals are those which are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bounded

Working Abroad Survival Guide - How to Happily Work and Live Abroad

The desire to work abroad comes from many places. Perhaps it spawned from an amazing vacation with the desire to stay longer. Or maybe it is the result of a job that is isn't meeting your needs. Or simply good timing; the product of a college graduation or retirement. More often than not it can be any number of practical reasons coupled with the abstract desire to see and experience new things. Thousands of people each year pursue working abroad opportunities - paid and volunteer jobs. Some choose a neighboring country, picking an ideal season to make some money and live in a new location, while others move to a country further away. Regardless of the reason, all of these choices have something in common and all of these reasons spark a change that means uprooting ones life and starting in on another. The decision is by no means easy, nor is the action of picking up and leaving it all behind. In fact, making the decision to move overseas in the first place is one of the hardest decisions of all. So Kudos to you, you did it! You're on your way to one of the greatest experiences in your life. What's next? Sadly, the decision-making and planning doesn't stop after the choice to move abroad. In fact, taking the time to consider a few key aspects of your move will help to ensure that you have the most successful and fulfilling experience abroad as possible.Location, Location, LocationCountry Mouse or City Mouse? Looking to break into a social scene or enjoy the tranquil hills of a quieter locale? Maybe you want to learn a language and envision yourself enjoying the sun on white-sand beaches. Are you heading far away or staying closer to home? Narrowing down your location is a valuable aspect of your work abroad experience. After all, if you're going to be working there, it means you'll be living there and living in an environment you like and enjoy is an important aspect of your happiness. Or maybe that's exactly the point. You've always lived in a larger city and want some time to reflect in the mountains. Pinpointing what you plan to get out of the location you choose is a major issue when moving elsewhere. Some people desire the challenge of a new location while others have narrower criteria, like a beach within walking distance for instance. Sometimes location is a product of other desires. For instance someone who wants to teach English and save money may choose Asia over Europe while a person who wants to learn Spanish and desires a country that will afford them cheaper living, may choose South America. Whatever the underlying goals are for your work abroad experience thinking clearly about your location and what it will afford you while you're abroad is an important decision to consider. It can make the difference.Goals for Your Working Abroad AdventureWhile maybe you're abandoning your previous five-year plan it is important to keep your new goals in mind. Taking the time to consider what other aspects of working abroad you hope to achieve is valuable before the big move. For many, the answer isn't as concrete as it is for some. Many people choose a seasonal location to experience a different atmosphere. Meeting some new people and enjoying a little change is sometimes as much as some people are after. The money isn't bad either for resort or ski-lodge jobs where there are a large number of hours to work and money to be made. Lets not forget the added bonus of having it all nestled in a gorgeous location close to happy vacationers. This type of work abroad experience is an excellent way to freshen up a dull summer and to make some money in the process. Resort jobs in Europe offer the promise of easy travel to neighboring countries and cruise ship jobs are likely to extend longer than just one season. For those who enjoy open seas, long summers and considerable paychecks each month a job such as this is nothing less than a dream come true. For persons who are moving further away and for a longer period of time however, working abroad can simply be the means by which they can remain overseas. Cash is king for the young expatriate and a job is often nothing more than making enough money for them to stay and enjoy their chosen location. For this type of individual their goals probably transcend a seasonal change of pace and are more likely to include learning a new language, immersing in a different culture, seeing a different part of the world or gaining experiences useful for a career or educational path. Thousands of people choose an over seas job allowing them the opportunity to boost resumes, meet local people, reach personal goals and most importantly, remain abroad without the hassle of worrying over money. This makes working abroad one of the most ideal scenarios for an expatriate living in a foreign country because it offers a solution to financial problems and functions as a forum to meet personal and travel goals. The Good & Bad of Living AbroadAlong with meeting people local to the country, expatriates typically have a large group of English speaking friends. This is because working abroad in foreign countries to learn languages and to experience different cultures is becoming a booming trend. Groups of expatriates are usually tight nit groups. And it makes sense why. For anyone living abroad the experience can be daunting, alienating and a bit lonely. Learning a new language is difficult and can be frustrating. Having a group of people who not only share the same cultural background but also who speak your native language is an enormous comfort to the downfalls of expatriate living. Most expatriates agree however, that the best way to gain confidence in a foreign country is immersion. It is often all too easy to rely on English speaking friends who can relate to you culturally for comfort. Keeping your goals in mind and your desire to experience different customs is sometimes the hardest and most rewarding part of living abroad. Moving out of your comfort zone and expanding past an immediate group of expatriate friends is a valuable thing to consider about what you're hoping to achieve in the bigger picture of your work abroad experience.Besides cultural and language differences, expatriates find themselves away from home with bank accounts that need a boost. It isn't uncommon then for many people working abroad to settle for a job slightly less than desirable. As with most things worth doing, living abroad isn't easy and sometimes teaching English or cold calling doesn't rank high on peoples lists of desirable work. However, the pros of living abroad almost certainly outweigh the cons of the job and the work experience usually turns into a valuable experience and one that almost every expatriate was happy to choose.

Regardless of where you end up working abroad, your specific goals, or how prepared you are to handle adversity, you will definitely make memories to last a lifetime. The Difference Between Busy Work And Profit Work

Everyone complains these days about how busy they are, but how productively are they using their time. Anyone who has ever worked in commission sales soon discovers that there are two kinds of work; busy-work and profit-work.Pareto's Principle says that 80% of our results come from 20% of our efforts. It's been my observation that when it comes to modern work practices Pareto's Principle is optimistic. Here are 5 questions to ask yourself during your working day.Question 1: Is what I am doing now the best choice of activity to help me achieve my objectives. The first step to answering this question well is to know what your objectives are. Most people have not given much thought to what the real objectives of their job are. They are too occupied with the busy-work to ask "what is the bottom line profit reason why I am here?"The role of every employee, and self employed person, is to enhance the business's ability to make net profit. No matter how far you are from the money making coal face, if you give some thought to your role in helping the business profit then you will be able to determine what is busy-work and what is profit-work.Question 2: Who can I delegate this to?The basic business concept of employment is that the employee should be providing the most valuable service possible for the money that they are being paid. If you are spending time doing tasks that someone further down the food chain could be doing then you are not providing the most valuable service for what you are being paid.Question 3: What would be the consequence of not do what I am doing now? This is an enlightening question. The human being is a great time waster. They spend too long on phone calls, too much time searching on the internet, too much time at the coffee machine, too much time in idle chatter and so on.If you regularly mentally ask yourself what the consequence would be if you didn't do what you are doing in this very moment then you would quite often discover that there would be no consequence, because what you are doing is busy-work.Question 4: Can I put a system in place to make this task faster? Are there ways to make some, or all, of your regular tasks more efficient? Over your lunch break, or while traveling to or from the office, give some thought to what systems you may be able to put into place that will help you complete tasks faster or more efficiently. A good assumption to work by is that there is always a way to do anything that is ten times better than the current way.Question 5: If I was hiring and paying a person to do my job would I be happy if they were doing what I am doing now? What is good use of your time and what is poor use is all a matter of perspective. If you can change the perspective then you can often gain an insight that you hadn't taken notice of before. The best perspective for assessing whether what you are doing is busy work or profit work is to stand in the shoes of an employer and imagine that you are paying someone, out of your own pocket, for the work being done. You may think that you are under paid but if you had to personally pay that salary then you would probably think that it was a large amount of money. You would also be very keen to get value for the money that you are spending. Your assessment, from that new perspective, is likely to be very profit-work focused.Final WordsEven the best workers can use their time more efficiently. Most workers could at least double their profitable output. Make a daily habit of asking yourself the above five questions and your will not only increase your profitable output but you will also gain more job satisfaction.

How You Can Earn An Income And Travel Or Live Overseas

Does the thought of just being able to get on a plane and go somewhere - anywhere - appeal to you? Do you have the travel bug, or are you perhaps actually dreaming of taking flight and settling down completely in a brand new location overseas? It seems that increasingly in this day and age with relatively cheap air travel available, (not including the carbon cost of flying around the world of course), and many websites, TV programmes and magazines committed to extolling the delights, virtues, sites and attractions of nations all around the world, that more and more of us want to see the world for ourselves up close and personally!Taking a vacation for a couple of weeks every year is no longer sufficient for us and even the baby boomer generation are getting in on the act and planning their retirement years abroad! The one thing we all have in common though is having to find a way to finance our travel and exploration plans. So, while the baby boomers can sell their homes and cash in their pensions maybe, what about the rest of us who actually have to still work for a living to make ends meet - is there a way to live abroad or travel the world and work and earn an income sufficient enough to keep us in the manner to which we have become accustomed? The simple answer is yes - here and three ways how you can earn an income and travel or live overseas1)Learn to teach English - one of the most popular ways that many native English speakers find to fund their exploration abroad is to learn how to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL) to young learners and adults. With a well accredited course and high pass marks under your belt you can take the skills you learn overseas with you and teach and spend after school time, at weekends and in the holiday periods using the money you earn to travel round the country in which you're working for example. International House TEFL courses and any course accredited by the Cambridge Examination Board in the UK are worth considering and TEFL is a truly flexible qualification and skill to have.2)Learn to teach a recreational sport like diving - if you become a dive master or instructor for example you can spend time in exotic places teaching tourists how to dive! The money isn't always incredible unless you run your own dive school, but the wage will be enough to allow you to live abroad in a fun location. Diving is just an example of a recreational pursuit you could teach - think about the location you'd like to live in and what skills may be required there - gain those skills and go teach!3)Start your own business overseas - the UK has an exhibition in November specifically for all those people who want to live abroad who are not yet in a position to retire and who would ultimately love to sack their boss. The Business Startup Overseas exhibition tells people how to find a niche, how to explore profitable avenues, how exactly to get all the paperwork in order and ultimately, how to start your own business abroad. These are just three simple ways that you could begin to consider and explore further if you really do want to spend a lot of time living and travelling abroad. Other options include becoming a yacht master and crewing yachts for wealthy people and effectively sailing yourself around the world, working as crew on cruise ships or airlines or possibly taking a skill you have such as singing or playing a musical instrument and busking your way around the world!Just think outside of the corporate world, 9 - 5 existence and think about the skills and talents you have, the skills and talents you could acquire and what opportunities there are or which opportunities you could create for yourself in a given location overseas. If you truly want to live abroad or travel overseas, commit yourself to the dream and you will find a way of making it an affordable reality.

Business, Networking, Global Resorts Network (grn) And Travel All Tied Together

You never know when you are going to lose your job, or have to find another way to make more income. Making money is not about sales, brains, or having money to make money. It is about Networking with people and building a web. As Zig Ziglar said, youcan have everything in life you want, if you help enough other peopleget what they want. Think about it for a second, what if you helped ten people reach their goals? Do you think they would remember you? Of course they would! They are not going to remember the company or the product, they are going to remember the person who made some of their dreams come true. They will return the favor one day with out a doubt. Global Resorts Network (GRN) is a proven fact of this. When you help other people, you can count on you web growing. And when you teach the people how to help and mentor other people that are in need, guess what, you will gain from that. Not only mentally and emotionally, but financially as well. It is a numbers game to a certain point, but only to a point. People do not buy the company or the product in Network marketing, they buy people. They buy into what you as a person can offer them in support and tem work.Traveling is one of the most sought after forms of relaxation more than anything. People love to travel to very high end resorts as well. It is as if they spend the money on vacation to feel like royalty for a week. Some people golf, others build cars, some buy extravagant toys, and then there are those of us that travel. Global Resorts Network (GRN) knows that people love to travel and they know how expensive it is. I feel bad for the people who got involved in a twenty, thirty, fifty thousand or more timeshare. If they would only have known the secret that Brent at LifetimeResort.com and so many others do. When we talk with timeshare owners, they are sick and tired of all the fees and payments that come with the timeshare, and also the fact that they only get one week out of the whole deal. And you have got to just hate the high pressure selling of these free dinners or free sunset cruises you get. These are some of the best salesman in the world, and unfortunately, you are falling into their trap if you want to go get a free dinner, Free is a funny word here, I would argue that after they sell you on a timeshare, you just paid $20,000 for the meal you just ate. But that is my opinion, and LifetimeResort.com is in agrees as well. Global Resorts Network (GRN) is not in the business of asking people for double digit sums of money. They want to actually help people build a dream. People helping People, that is what it really boils down to, really go do your research for your self. And I dare you to ask questions and lots of them to. Try to find the scam, try to find the catch.you will not. All contact info is in the resource box.don't be shy

Taking Your Kids Out of School to Go Camping and Travelling in Australia

Taking your kids out of school for several weeks when you go camping and travel Australia can be a difficult choice. If you can include the usual school holidays and add a week or several weeks, it will impact a bit less on their lessons. It depends at what stage they are at school as it's easier to take them out of primary school than secondary school.Contact your child's school and teachers and explain when you are going away and where so the teacher is fully aware of your plans. In my experience all the teachers had no problem with them missing school for a few weeks. Some of them said 'they will learn a lot more' as we were travelling Australia and were quite happy for them to go. A few teachers gave them work sheets to do or a novel to read while they were travelling and asked them to do a daily diary of their travels. My family have had two 6 week camping trips, the first in 2000 & the 2nd in 2003 where my 3 kids were taken out of school for 4 weeks each time as we included the June holidays both times. The first trip we went on my kids were 7, 10, and 12 years old, the eldest being in the first year of secondary school. We travelled from Victoria to Central Australia, to Darwin, Kakadu and back down through Outback Queensland and New South Wales. The second trip they were 10, 13, and 15 so this time 2 were in secondary school. This time we travelled from Victoria to Alice Springs, on the Tanami Track to The Kimberley, around the Gibb River Road, then to Katherine and down the Stuart Hwy to home. The diaries that they made and the photos we took are great to look back on. They added an entry in the diary each day, with a few paragraphs, noting where we travelled to or from, what they had seen and experienced. Then they included a small brochure. postcard or cut out pictures from larger brochures.

There are even notations as to what food items are Kosher, for those travelers with such dietary needs.Founding the company was a true family business experience recalls company President, Harriet Shrater, It was on a family trip to a cottage in New Hampshire that we realized, after buying a half-dozen bottles of condiments and dressings that were going straight in the trash after we left, that there was no place to easily buy smaller sizes. Harriet, who has a background in human resources, and is a lifelong member of the Girl Scouts of America, hatched the plan for the company with her engineering-executive husband, Joel Shrater. Then, they brought the concept to both of their children, Robyn Shrater Seemann, who works in graphic and internet design in Washington D.C., and Paul Shrater, a graduate of the well-known Wharton business school. The family divided up duties and then set forth to launch an innovative online presence in individual and travel-sized items.Paul Shrater adds, We just finished our beta-test phase, and we've already had customers purchasing products to lower the weight they carry backpacking, to bolster their basic first aid kit, to add stuff to what they carry in their purse, and also some that bought items to keep at their desk at work. It is exciting to see the wide-ranging customer base. Some of the most consistent feedback we got was that it was fun.'For additional information contact: Paul Shrater, VP of Marketing, 818-761-1243About MinimusThe minimus.biz website was launched on July 6, 2004. Is Nursing a Good Career to Travel, To Work and Live in Different Countries?

Many people dream of having a career that gives them opportunity to travel the world and experience different locations and cultures. Unfortunately, relatively few jobs really allow for this, and many of the ones that do are very exclusive. However, one field that is relatively accessible and allows for extensive travel is nursing.Travel nursing first came about as a response to a significant shortage of nurses in the United States and in other countries. In order to deal with this shortage, several companies started offering nurses benefits for traveling to other states or countries in order to work in their hospitals. The advantages of being a travel nurse - aside from being able to see different areas of the country and the world - may include better wages, paid housing and other bonuses.Traveling also provides nurses new opportunities by exposing them to new challenges that come with working in a different place. This is especially true when it comes to international travel nursing, as many hospitals in other countries lack the technology and staff of American hospitals. This can lead to some incredibly challenging yet also fulfilling work experiences. To become a travel nurse, one must simply apply to one of the many travel nursing agencies worldwide. Currently, there are well over 300 such companies in the United States alone. To apply to one of these companies is not an easy task, and it requires a substantial amount of paperwork. Potential applicants will have to fill out a detailed application and work history, as well as provide verification for all their certifications. Other hurdles to becoming a travel nurse include skill assessments and verification of vaccinations for common transferable diseases. Fortunately, some agencies will accept paperwork that has been completed for others, making applying to multiple agencies easier. After securing a job with one of these companies, the agency will submit applications on behalf of the nurse for various positions around the country or around the globe. The nurse may have some limited control over where they are sent, but ultimately go where they are needed. The hospitals that need nurses will choose the nurses that best meet their needs, then make an offer to the agency. The agency, in turn, figures out how much its going to cost for them to pay the nurses housing and travel costs. Once thats all calculated, they present the nurse with their offer. Most agencies will provide their travel nurses with fully furnished and paid housing that is near the hospital where they will be working. The exact quality of the housing, as well as pay and other benefits, will vary from agency to agency. Generally speaking, the better the amenities, the lower the actual wages that the nurse will be paid. Some nurses may not even be provided with housing, but may get better wages. Every agency is different and has different opportunities available its up to the nurse to find one that best suits his or her needs.

Rhode Island - Museum of Work and Culture - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

There are a lot of things to see and do in Rhode Island; however one place you will definitely want to make time for is the Museum of Work and Culture. This museum is interactive and it sheds light on how French Canadians changed their lives by moving from their farms to New England to find work in factories. The Museum of Work and Culture highlights how these individuals managed new work opportunities, language barriers, and new customs while retaining their culture. When entering the museum visitors will walk over a 19th century farmhouse threshold to see what rural life in Quebec during the 19th century was really like. This allows visitors to see what the immigrants lived like on their farms before so many made the decision to immigrate to the New England states, including Rhode Island. Museum visitors will then be able to move over to the United States to see how immigrants worked every day and what their personal lives were like at home, school, church, and in their cities. Tours are available for large groups, including school groups, and may be scheduled in advance. Visitors interesting in scheduling a large group should call 401-769-9675 to schedule a tour. The Museum of Work and Culture is located at 42 South Main Street in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 am until 4 pm; Saturday 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday 1 pm until 4 pm. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and children 10 and under are free with an accompanying adult.

Graduate Job Opportunities: Adventure, Work And Travel

Think gap years are just for school leavers and time wasters? Think again!Over 30% of the volunteers sent away last year by 'The Leap', one of the UK's leading Gap Year organisations, were over the age of twenty. Be it a year off before submitting to the 9-5, a Summer gap between University terms or a few months career sabbatical, a gap year has opportunities and benefits for everyone and is proving an increasingly popular option for graduates. And the great news is that the range of projects and placements on offer is now bigger than ever, volunteering opportunities from managing luxurious Safari Camps in the Mara to teaching English to kids in the Amazon are yours for the taking. So, don't follow the graduate crowd, meandering like lost sheep from one aimless temp job to the nexttest your skills, use your brain and experience a once in a lifetime opportunity that will benefit your life and career forever! Let's face it, University (as much as we like to pretend otherwise) is bloody hard work. At least three years of gruelling mental exercise, high pressure late night essay writing all topped of with a tasty helping of last minute panic, anxiety and stress! Yes we had the time of our lives, but the last thing we want to think about as we walk triumphantly from the exam hall is the mountain of job application forms awaiting us at home. There has to be more to graduation than nagging parents and student overdrafts. If there's ever a time in ones life that a holiday is earned then it's post University. The notion of going straight from the lecture theatre to the graduate job is outmoded and doesn't suit the development needs and interests of today's University leavers. More importantly, it doesn't generate the motivated, skilled and experienced job applicants that graduate employers are looking to recruit. There has to be another way. I believe the answer lies in a gap year. There has been much debate in the media recently as to why graduates are not matching the standards and expectations of employers. Some of this country's biggest and most influential graduate recruiters such as Price Waterhouse Coopers and Gold and Sachs have complained that new recruits don't have the practical skills, life experience or right attitude to learning excel in business. They suggest that the fault lies with degrees and teaching styles at Universities not adequately preparing students for the world of work. In response, educators are expanding methods of learning and assessment to match employers needs and are also introducing accredited modules in interview, computing and public speaking skills to name but a few. But isn't it time for individuals to take responsibility for their skills base and work experience- rather than blaming a faceless system for churning out unsuitable applicants, graduates and students need to do more to prepare their CV and take control of their futures. In a competitive market where thousands of people with the same degree classification are applying for limited job opportunities how can a graduate make sure their CV stands out? Taking a structured gap year, which develops and showcases your abilities is a practical and exciting way to achieve what every graduate employer craves- an application form that shines with experience and motivation. Best of all, having completed three months volunteer work in the wilds of Africa or rainforests of Costa Rica you will have something extra ordinary to talk about at interview. Show interviewers you've got what it takes to organise, fund raise and work your way through a gap year- giving something back to those less fortunate and you'll make a lasting impression they wont forget in a hurry. Don't just talk about soft skills you have, demonstrate them by taking a gap year. For many, a gap year after University has the additional benefit of allowing time away from home and education to reassess your long-term goals. So many of us leave our studies with next to no idea of what we want to do in life, feeling daunted about the future and overwhelmed by the changes taking place around us. A year out gives the opportunity to take a step back, discover something new and even experiment with career prospects. Combining work experience in industries that interest you with adventurous travel and worthwhile volunteer projects allows you to do this and, as mentioned will enhance your chance of landing your dream job when you finally work out what it is!Finally and most importantly, I would like to advise those among you who are put off the idea of a gap year post university by the financial burden of Student loans and the grumblings of parents desperate to see the returns of their life long investment, don't be. A well planned year off can be totally self funded with just a few months of paid work, it needn't leave you in debt and could actually improve your earning potential by the benefits it gives to your employability. Although you may feel shackled by debt and responsibility right now, this is may be the last period in your life where you have freedom from jobs, contracts, mortgages and childcare and are able to have a gap experience. Whether it's a gap year or just a few months, now is the time to actand with so many great volunteer opportunities for graduates, it's clearly time to call The Leap!

Mixing Work and Travel Via the Web

The digital revolution is upon us, but many people do not fully think through the potential benefits of it. For many people, the idea of traveling while also working is no longer a myth.I was recently at a graduation party where a recent graduate told me that he wasn't looking forward to "driving a desk" for the foreseeable future. I laughed a bit, particularly when he told me that he did graphic design work. As we talked about it, I came to find out he did most of his work without ever meeting with the client. Desk be gone! The internet is a beautiful thing because it can provide you with vast amounts of freedom if you use it correctly. How so? Well, let me ask you a question. Where am I writing this article from? Would it matter if I was writing it while sitting at a desk in San Diego or uploading it from a cyber caf? in Buenos Aires? The answer is obvious, yet few people really think it through and apply the ability to get out and travel while still working.More and more people provide freelance work these days, particularly in the field of technology. Whether it is site security or custom programming, most of this work is done without any physical meeting between the client and provider. This is how sites like "Rent a Coder" and "E-lance" exists. If you have the skills to provide such work, why wouldn't you?Ah, but how do I get paid? This is a common question for many people and a justified one. The key is to take payment online. You can issue invoices and acknowledge payments through PayPal and the like. I've hired independent contractors for years, yet met very few of them. Half of them I know by email addresses!Nothing is stopping you from conducting business this way and seeing the world. Nearly every location you can think of has a cyber caf? somewhere. Take a beater laptop with you. Do your work, plod on over to the caf? and upload the finished work to get paid. Whether you are on the beach in Mexico, the mountains of Nepal or a desk in your home town, it is all the same work and all the same revenue. Is this possible for everyone? Of course not. If you have the flexibility to pull it off, I highly recommend it. Once you're married and have kids, opportunities to fly off to some exotic destination for a week will be a thing of the past.
